Focused Awareness
The purpose of a Focused Awareness meditation is to calm the mind by cultivating the steady awareness of an object - for example the breath.
An example of a simple Focused Awareness meditation
- Focus attention on the breath
- Count each breath, up to ten, then start again at one
- If your attention wanders, gently bring it back to the breath
